Mackenzie Thorpe's THE BEE BOY, the love from a little boy, whether they are still seven years old or eighty, that is the magic in every girls step. There is a purity and simplicity of spirit all boys learn at an early age, which is masterfully captured in this latest sculpture titled Bee Boy. Mackenzie connects with his own inner boy, the one who stands at the front door on Halloween, with the home-made costume made of parts and bits of everything else…but to him…he IS a bee. With chest puffed out with pride, feet together sturdy enough to hold the weight of a jet airliner, smile as broad as the ocean, and surprise in hand he knows will delight…he embodies all things boy.

As Mackenzie is known to do, this work is above stereotype and immediate surface appeal. "It speaks to all of us, to boys who identify with this depiction of confidence regardless of age, to girls who identify with having boys in their lives with this charm regardless of personal connection. It is pure love".

Bee Boy has an opening price of $3,3, it measures 21.5” tall, 10” wide, and 8.25” dee, it is in an edition of 195 Arabic, 8 Artist Proofs, and 8 Hors d Commerce.
